In Bigg Boss 16 house, a new day brings more challenging chores, drama, and altered relationship dynamics. The candidates compete against one another to advance to the finals while forming allies and foes. Gautam Vig and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia were the most recent pair to compete in the home. Archana Gautam, who was demoted to the house captain as a punishment, was released from her responsibilities on the most recent episode of the Salman Khan-hosted program. After that, Bigg Boss proposed a new assignment to choose the next house captain. Nimrit decided to choose Shiv Thakare as her captain rather than some rations for the home.
Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and the other house occupants did not appreciate her decision, arguing that Nimrit had no right to forsake her ration in favor of others. She was followed by Soundarya Sharma and Ankit Gupta, who had the option of choosing Gautam as their new captain or staying with their current ration.

Although Ankit preferred Ratio to his housemate, she chose to go with Gautam. Ankit had angered Gautam by doing this. As opposed to rations for the house, Nimrit Kaur and Gautam Vig also engaged in a heated argument over Shiv Thakare. He questioned her commitment. She countered, however, that nobody should criticize her choice because Soundarya Sharma also made the same choice, and nobody spoke to her about it.

Nevertheless, Nimrit sobbed when Gautam mentioned that she had met a new friend in Shiv. Shiv was chosen as captain instead of Priyanka since she was okay with him doing so, as she later revealed to Tina Datta.
