India and England have been scheduled to play warm match before CWC 2023. The tournament is gearing up to start from 5th October with 2019 finalists England and New Zealand taking on each other. Like always, every team will play warm matches before the start of the tournament. India wanted to give as much practice as they can to every player to keep them all match fit. England players wanted to get used to the conditions, as well. India has played Asia Cup and ODI series against Australia, recently.
Now, Ashwin Ravichandran has been added to the squad in place of Axar Patel. Hence, India coaching staff, wanted everyone to keep the rhythm going before they play their first CWC 2023 ODI. Also, they wanted to test their best XI in these warm matches as well before the tournament. At Guwahati, India might have tested three pacers and two spinners bowlers to be part of XI. They might have tested 4 bowlers and 5 batters, 2 all-rounders theory as well.
England wanted their players to get used to Indian weather conditions. They also wanted to get their best XI in place. India and England match would have been a great watch with England batters being in superlative form. And a lot of spectators have come to witness the action, as well. But clouds haven’t been kind and the match had to be abandoned due to heavy rain. India would be expecting rains won’t hamper them in the tournament like they did during Asia Cup.
