Pakistan needed to win their 7th game after losing 4 on the bounce in CWC 2023. They lost to India and Afghanistan and their fans wanted them to win against Bangladesh. With two more matches to go, Pakistan needed this one to end with a “W” for them. Bowlers have set up an important win for them at Eden Gardens. They won with 7 wickets and 105 balls remaining.

Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first. Pak bowlers have looked in form for the first time after they have put South Africa under pressure. Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets in the first 5 overs. Litton Das(45), Mahmudullah(56) tried to save the innings after being at 23/3. Finally, Mahmudullah got a chance to bat longer than batting at No.8. But he could not kick on after scoring hald century.

Shakib Al Hasan(45) tried his best to take the score above 250. But Pak bowlers did not allow Bangladesh batters to score freely. In the chase, Abdullah Shafique(68) and Fakhar Zaman(81) have put on a big partnership for the first wicket. Babar Azam(9), Mohammad Rizwan(26) and Iftikhar Ahmed(17) tried to score fast to improve their NRR. Pakistan won by 7 wickets and with 105 balls remaining. They are now on 6 points equalling with Afghanistan. Now, they need to win their next two games to improve their SF chances.
